Rev Jim Solomon

Pastor Jim was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, as one of twelve children in a devout Roman Catholic family. Anne, Jim’s wife, is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she grew up in the Presbyterian Church, USA. They met in Boston at Park Street Congregational Church. They soon left their beloved Boston for a Baptist General Conference seminary out west and returned to serve at a large, non-denominational church in Bethel, Connecticut, as Associate Pastor for several years. Yes, Jim and Anne have "experienced it all" when it comes to churches! Jim currently is "settled" and excited about serving as the Lead Pastor/Church Planter of New Hope in Newtown, Connecticut, as part of The Alliance, www.cmalliance.org.

Jim’s personal mission statement is to attract people to Christ, connect them with His community, and develop them into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. In addition to officiating weddings, leading funerals and overseeing the church, Jim enjoys preaching, teaching, counseling and visitation. He especially enjoys recruiting and developing leaders and lay ministers to serve in their realm of giftedness as he believes everyone is great at something.

Jim has written a book entitled The Living Water which he prays will impact many people for their well-being and Christ's glory. He has spoken at several men’s conferences and has led retreats on both coasts as a consultant to several churches around the nation in the realm of small groups and spiritual formation.

Currently working on his Doctorate, Jim holds a Masters of Divinity from Bethel Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island. He and Anne had worked for Fortune 500 corporations for several years in Boston before 1995 when they transitioned to vocational ministry.

Jim and Anne have two daughters and reside in Newtown, Connecticut. As for hobbies, Jim loves reading, writing, running, hiking, playing musical instruments, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his “queen” and “two little princesses.”
