A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Jim grew up as one of twelve children of a devout Roman Catholic family. Anne, Jim’s wife, is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she grew up in the Presbyterian church. They met in Boston at Park Street Congregational Church. They soon left their beloved Boston for seminary out west and returned to serve at a large, non-denominational church in Bethel, Connecticut, as Associate Pastor for several years. Jim currently is serving as the Lead Pastor/Church Planter of this new church plant in Newtown, Connecticut, affiliated with The Alliance.

Jim’s personal mission statement is to attract people to Christ, connect them with His community, and develop them into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. He enjoys preaching, teaching, counseling and visitation. He also enjoys recruiting and developing leaders and lay ministers to serve in their realm of giftedness. God especially used him to launch and develop a small groups ministry that grew to over 90 groups in which people found a place to belong and become all that Christ created them to be. He hopes to now lead others in designing and developing avenues through which Christ-followers may grow, both spiritually and relationally.

Through prayer and various circumstances, Jim and his wife, Anne, recently were led by God to plant a new church in Newtown, Connecticut -- New Hope Community Church -- to reach people who have yet to receive Christ's love, forgiveness, empowerment and guidance in their lives. The church has a focus on being not only graceful but also truthful (John 1:14), allowing the use of all of the gifts of the Spirit with all of the fruit of the Spirit in accordance with all of the counsel of the Word.

Through Jim's desire for accountability and equipping/ empowerment, and through God's orchestrating, the church, in its "pre-natal" stage, was "adopted" by The Alliance on September 1, 2005.

Jim has written a book entitled “The Living Water” which he prays will impact many people for Christ’s glory. He has spoken at several men’s conferences on both coasts and has served as a consultant to several churches around the nation in the realm of small groups.

Jim holds a Masters of Divinity from Bethel Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island. Since 1995, he has served in various pastoral roles including church planting. Prior to that time he and Anne had worked for financial service organizations in Boston. Jim and Anne have two daughters, Amanda and Ashley, and reside in Newtown, Connecticut. As for hobbies, Jim loves reading, writing, running, hiking, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his “queen” and “two little princesses.”
